3. Mission Statement
STMA Youth Development program (YDT) is committed to the development and promotion of girl’s volleyball within the St. Michael-Albertville area. The program provides an opportunity for girls ages 6 through 12 to play volleyball year round, thus allowing them to learn new skills and develop skills already acquired. The goals of YDT coaches goes further than just teaching volleyball skills, but includes teaching important life skills such as responsibility and teamwork. The program also emphasizes the importance of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual achievements within a fun, competitive, and safe environment.

4. Goals
Our goals as a Youth Development Program is to provide the opportunity for girls to experience the sport of volleyball at a beginning level. They will be provided with the skills, knowledge, and understanding of the game to the best of their ability. Teamwork and other life skills will also be taught. They will be challenged to improve their skill level and to try new techniques that will enable them to continuously improve and perform to the best of their ability.

5. Practices 1st & 2nd Grade – Rachel Johnson 3rd-6th Grade YDT –
Players will be practicing certain skills whole group and then breaking into smaller groups for a variety of skill stations
No “teams”
8-10 assistant coaches
3rd-6th Grade YDT –
Players will be placed onto teams with others of similar age and abilities
Each team will have 1 YDT coaches and 1 volunteer parent assistant coach

6. Practices (cont.) 1st & 2nd Grade -Starts Nov 19th ends Feb 18th
Practice: Sundays
Time: 5:30 – 6:45
MSE
3rd-6th Grade YDT -Starts Nov 19th ends Feb 25th
Practice: Sundays in November and December
Time: 5:15 – 7:15
Activity Center
Practice: Sundays in January and February
Time: 3:30-5:00 or 5:15-6:45 depending on the teams
MSE or MSW
No practice on Sunday before school after winter break or SuperBowl Sunday

7. Playdates 1st & 2nd Grade – 3rd-6th Grade YDT – No Saturday Playdates
Will participate in at least 3 Saturday playdates
Begin play at 9:00 AM, typically finish around 2:00 PM
Playdates at MSE or MSW
Jan. 13, Jan. 20, Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 17, Feb. 24

8. Expectations on the Court
Hair up and out of face
NO JEWELRY
Filled water bottle
Kneepads on and up if they have them (not required)
Court shoes that were CARRIED into the building
No tank tops or camis
Hustle when on the court, in and out of huddles, when getting a drink.
Be ready to work hard. We are here to have fun, but also to develop volleyball skills.

9. Uniforms Each team will have a different colored jersey
Will be sizes to try on at the first night of practice
Colors will be distributed once teams have been decided.

10. YDT Code of Conduct
For the 2016 – 2017 season (November 2016– April 2017) agreement and adherence to the following is required of all players selected to a STMA YDT Volleyball Team, and parents where applicable: 1. I will treat all STMA teammates, coaches, and STMA parents with respect. 2. I will show fairness and respect towards all opponents (players and coaches), spectators, officials, and facility staff. 3. I agree to respect the property of others (teammates, hotels, gyms, locker rooms, vans and cars, restaurants…) and to pay for all damages for which I am responsible.

11. YDT Code of Conduct (Cont.)
4. I agree to meet my financial requirement IN FULL. Payments are due by the schedule of payments set by STMA YDT, unless the director or treasurer has approved an alternative payment plan. Failure to abide by the terms of the payment plan will result in termination. This includes the $150 volunteer check. Initial- _________ 5. I agree to the STMA Juniors Refund Policy. Refund Policy- STMA YDT WILL NOT offer any refunds for club volleyball athletes once the season has started since the loss of an athlete cannot be easily replaced once all club athletes have committed to their teams. Therefore, STMA YDT defines the start of the season as the Novermber 19th, and not the team’s first tournament. Legal action may occur if payment policies are not followed as stated.

15. Fundraising Opportunities
We host 5-6 tournaments and need parents to help out with concessions and admissions. An additional $150 will be charged to all which is refundable after fulfillment of tournament help.
You have the option of volunteering at a tournament in which your daughter is not playing

16. Fundraising (Cont.) Cookie Dough Fundraiser-
The profits will go towards new equipment.
Travis from Adrenaline Fundraising will be here in November to meet with players/parents and go over the program.
Goal is for each player to sell 10 boxes

17. Parent Assistant Coaches
Each team will also have one parent assistant coach.
This person will be helping out at all practices and on the bench at playdates.
Parent assistant coaches will not need to work concessions and will receive their $150 check back.
