NARRATIVES - STORIES A narrative can be written in the first or the third person and describes a series of events, either imaginary or based on your own experience. A good narrative should consist of: 1. AN INTRODUCTION 2. A MAIN BODY 3. A CONCLUSION

INTRODUCTION  Paragraph 1 You set the scene (people involved, time, place) in an interesting way to catch the readers’ attention and make them want to continue reading your story.

MAIN BODY  Paragraphs 2 – 4 Describe the incidents leading up to the main event and the event itself in detail.

CONCLUSION  Final paragraph You can refer to people’s feelings, comments and reactions or consequences. The more unpredictable your conclusion is, the longer-lasting the impression it will make on the reader.

HOMEWORK Write you own story with an environmental topic. Do not forget to include the comment in the ending. You can use the following beginning if you want: Why is it that people won’t believe others when they are warning them against their own misconduct. This is what happened to Tim in a summer that changed his life… Send your story until (8 pm) to Subject: narrative
