2 5-Paragraph Essay Essays are written using 5 paragraphs:
Every essay that you write this year will be in the 5-paragraph essay format. Essays are written using 5 paragraphs: Introduction Paragraph Body Paragraph #1 Body Paragraph #2 Body Paragraph #3 Conclusion Paragraph

3 Writing Process Essay writing is a process. You need to carefully follow each step in order to write a successful, structured essay. STEP 1: PREWRITING – Prewriting is used to plan out what you are going to write in your essay. (This was HW last night.) STEP 2: ROUGH DRAFT – Write a rough draft of your essay. STEP 3: REVISION – Revise the rough draft. STEP 4: FINAL DRAFT

5 ESSAY #1 - Notes Essay #1 is about YOU describing who YOU are as a person. One word to describe yourself Three incidents in which you showed the quality you chose PROVE how each incident shows your quality (EX: This incident shows that I am determined because…)

6 Remember…the more SPECIFIC, the better.
Choose 3 SPECIFIC incidents. For example: “I was determined when I was lifting over the summer for conditioning.” How can we make this example more specific? Think about your own examples. Are they as specific as they can be? (One time, one place in your life.)
