Soar Your Hawk! Be Responsible Don’t sink!

Class Rule #1 4 Be in seat ready to work before bell. 4 Materials out. 4 Backpack under desk.

Be ready and start working! 4 Use pen (blue/black ink) or pencil. 4 Copy HWK into BVMS Planner. 4 Have Homework out on desk corner. 4 Put out working materials for the period. 4 Read Agenda and do as it says. START!! 4 Title Assignments and put heading in upper right corner with: Name, Period, Date.

Respect everyone’s right to learn Rule #2 4 Remain quiet when I or a student speaks. 4 Respect Code of Conduct. 4 Remain in seat. Need permission to leave it.

Keep your area clean! Rule #3 Keep trash and throw out by door on way out of room. Do not leave seat!

Be an independent learner. Rule #4 4 Follow directions sensibly. 4 Take time to do well with complete sentence ideas. 4 Finish!

Never be late or accept your fate! 4 Work on time=full credit. No back recording of HW or practice assignments. 4 If assignment not finished, parent must or phone explaining if it is beyond student’s control. 4 Late writing assignments receive partial credit in LA only if signed on top. 4 Make up tests on time or zero.

Never end noisy! 4 At end of class, pack up quietly, check area, and stay seated. 4 No talking. Listen for closing. 4 Closing Activity can be last 7 minutes with a mini-quiz on what was learned that lesson. 4 Never leave your area without the teacher dismissing you. The bell is NOT the teacher.

Absent? How to make up work. 4 Check Hand-out Tray at front and see web site HW. 4 Make up tests are during DEAR Period. Take a pink pass to come to Room Extra help at DEAR time 4 Will receive zero if you do not bother. You get one day for every day absent to finish all tests and work.

Follow Code of Conduct by respecting all. 5. Get permission with pass to leave. Sign out. 6. Check Absent Tray for handouts by back computer. Follow Homepage HW to do work. 7. Observe Be a Brain Rules to create a positive learning classroom

Quiz on Responsibilities/Rules 4 Direction: Give the Silverhawk Responsibility number that these concern: 1. You come in and a student starts asking you questions and talking to you. You respond. 2. You come in quietly, get out your materials, including HW. You start work on agenda. 3. You pick up around your desk and toss trash on way out, instead of leaving seat without permit. 4. You whisper/signal/talk when another is participating, distracting yourself or others. 5. You do not make up missed work or come at DEAR with your pass to take a test or get help. 6. You leave class without showing teacher your pass and without letting her initial it.

Quiz continued: 7. You start packing items before the last 4 minutes of class without teacher permission. 8. The bell rings and you leave before the teacher formally dismisses the class. 9. You are absent and check the Web page Calendar, print out any necessary assign- ments, and plan on taking a quiz you missed the day after you return. 10. You get a pass to return to DEAR to make up work, but do not record the make up task on your pass. Then you forget what to do.
