Classroom Routines and Procedures Mr. Ferro Social Studies

Classroom Routines and Procedures Mr.Ferro 6 th Grade Social Studies “Shining Stars” BEFORE THE BELL RINGS - Once you are in the classroom, you are there to stay. - Students are expected to act in an orderly manner. - Students are expected to sit in assigned seats. - Students are expected to begin Bell Work. WHEN THE BELL RINGS - Students are seated and quiet working on Bell Work. - Students will have approximately 3 minutes to complete Bell Work after the bell sounds to begin class. - After completing Bell Work, students should take out their homework. - If Bell Work is not completed within the given time you will be expected to come after school to complete.

GENERAL CLASSROOM PROCEDURES - Raise hands at all times before speaking. - Students are expected to be polite and respectful to all teachers and peers. - Students are expected to use their agendas to sign out of class. No agenda, no sign out. Unless it is an emergency. - Use bathroom and water fountain before you enter class. - If you are late for class you will be expected to stay after school. - Students are expected to bring proper supplies to class every day.

HOMEWORK ROUTINES - You should expect homework every day. - All homework must be completed for the following day. - All written assignments must be completed in the proper section of your notebook. - Worksheet assignments should be placed in your folder after they are checked and gone over. - All homework assignments are graded with a Check, Check Minus or Zero. - Homework assignments should be completed neatly and written in pen or pencil.

GRADING PROCEDURES - Quizzes will be given every Friday. - Notebooks and folders are collected and graded once a quarter. - Tests will be given at the completion of each chapter. - Quarterly averages will be determined by the following: 25% = Quiz Average 25% = Test Average 25% = Homework Average 25% = Notebook and Bell Work Average

I understand the routines and procedures for Mr. Ferro’s 6 th grade Social Studies class. I will make every effort to follow them. __________________________________ ____________ Student Signature Date __________________________________ ____________ Parent Signature Date
