 It was a “Great Charter ”  The documentation guaranteed basic political rights.  Written by nobles and signed by King John.  Similar to the U.S. Bill of Rights

Hugh Capet  Built a stable country.  Began the Capetian Dynasty.  Established the French throne in Paris! Philip II aka Augustus  Weakend English Kings.  Increased French territory.

 Created a sense of Nationalism for France.  Defined France as a country.  France won the war.

 Teenage girl who unified French armies to drive the English out.  Claimed to be spoken to by GOD!  Tried by the Catholic Church for witch craft and heresy.  Died from being burnt at the stake.
