“Take-Home” Folder Please check your child’s “take-home” folder every night for important papers and information!!!! This is our primary form of communication with parents. Examples: Weekly Letter (Fridays or Mondays), homework, graded papers, and various notes from the teacher, lunchroom, homeroom mom, PTO, etc.

Homework Reading – every night – please listen to your child read and sign reading log nightly Other written homework – Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday nights

Grades 1 st 9 weeks – Grades will be given in reading, spelling, and math after mid 9 weeks (hopefully this will give parents and students a few weeks of practice grades to become acclimated to first grade and having grades for the first time) Beginning 2 nd 9 weeks – Grades will be given in reading, spelling, and math

Breakfast, Lunch, and Snacks Breakfast and Lunch Breakfast is served every morning for $1.00 Lunches are $1.75 per day for a full tray Milk only – 50 cents Ice Cream may be purchased for an additional 50 cents on Fridays only First graders are not allowed to purchase other “extras” Snacks Please send a healthy snack with your child every day No drinks – students will be allowed to drink from the water fountain in the classroom No candy please

Birthdays No parties You may send a birthday “snack”, however…… 1. Please follow the nutrition guidelines as set by the state 2. Please let the teacher know a couple of days in advance 3. Send the snack with your child the morning of or drop off the snack at the office before snack time

Fees Weekly Reader - $4.02 Donation - $12.00 Field Trip T-shirts – $8.00 PTO - $5.00 ****All fees must be paid for separately using correct change or separate checks.

Please send…………….. ALL money in an envelope with your child’s name, teacher’s name, and what the money is for written on the outside of the envelope. (loose money will not be accepted) written excuses in the “take-home” folder the day your child returns to school from an absence. a note with your child if they need to sit out of PE due to illness. Please keep in mind and remind students……… if a student sits out of PE, they will also sit out at recess. a note if your child’s transportation will change.

Supplies Please bring your supplies to your child’s classroom at the conclusion of the meeting. Place supplies around the classroom in labeled areas. If you haven’t had a chance to buy supplies or lack a few items…please bring them on the first day of school.

FINALLY………. Meet your teacher!!! Please introduce yourself and your child to your teacher before you leave tonight. We are looking forward to a fantastic first grade year!!!!
