 9 th  10 th grade: 6 Credits  10 th  11 th grade: 12 credits (must have Math I, English I and II)  11 th  12 th grade: 18 credits

 Dual Enrollment in classes at PHS and CPCC  Online AP courses listed on the card  See Mrs. Sharon Walker in the College and Career Center for applications for both programs

 Rising seniors interested in graduating after 1 st semester (January 2017) MUST inform their counselor at registration.  Mid Year Graduates will complete a binding contract in the fall. Midyear graduates cannot walk in June or attend spring functions as a student (i.e. Prom)

 SENIORS ONLY!  You must be in good academic standing to be considered for ER  You MUST complete and submit an Early Release Form signed by a parent/guardian  We will NOT rearrange your schedule after “last chance” to accommodate ER!  Many colleges want students to take a full academic schedule senior year…It is your responsibility to research how your perspective colleges feel about ER in your schedule!

 NO! ….We do NOT allow students to take classes at other schools or through other programs to get ahead in their curriculum.  YES!....We do encourage students to take advantage of academic summer programs but we do not give credit on transcripts for these opportunities.

 Some classes require an application  Newspaper  Lit Mag  TV Productions  Leadership  Yearbook  Some classes require an audition  Music Courses  If you want to skip a level in a fine arts….you must get teacher approval!

Standard…..Honors….AP - AP Course Expectations (highly motivated, great work ethic, strong reader, homework commitment outside of class) - AP= College Level - Extra Quality Point = Extra Work - Challenge yourself but higher level courses are only beneficial if you are successful! Standard Honors AP CTE Language DO NOT OVERSCHEDULE YOURSELF!

 Ask your teachers…they can tell you more about the courses in their content area as well as help you make the best selection for YOU!  Do NOT choose classes based on what your friends are taking or what teacher is currently teaching the class.  Review the PHS Course Offering Guide online for information about specific courses! BE CAREFUL…WE CANNOT CHANGE YOUR COURSES NEXT YEAR IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND!

 You must select 8 TOTAL Courses!  Courses must be BALANCED !  You MUST select THREE Different 4X4 and THREE Different A/B day alternate classes!

 You and your parent/guardian must sign this card! Talk to them about your selections!  Complete the information section on the front including phone number and so we can contact you if there are any questions.  Do NOT think that not getting a signature, not listing alternates, or not turning in the card will allow you to have a schedule change next year! We know your tricks

 Counselors will be meeting with you during English classes. Ninth graders who do not have English this semester, counselors will find you during an elective period.  If you have a questions about registration, please send an to your counselor or stop by before or after school.  Your parents can contact counselors by or can send their questions with you for your individual meeting.

 The CARD is still FINAL!  Rising 10 th and 11 th cards are due to the counseling office on Feb 5 th !  Rising 12 th graders will hold their cards until their counselor meeting.  ALL cards MUST be signed by a parent/guardian.  Remember….choose 8 classes + 3 4X4 alternates + 3 A/B Day alternates  You CANNOT duplicate classes!

 Forms are due by 3pm on April 11 th ! NO EXCEPTIONS!  You might change your mind about a class after 3 rd quarter….this is your last chance to make any changes to your schedule before it is finalized!
