23 STARR The score on an EOC assessments counts for 15% of the final course grade Grading: –Term Averages (1 st, 2 nd grading period, etc.) –Semester Averages (includes semester exam) –Year Average (S1 and S2 average –Final Course Grade (includes EOC score) www.tea.state.tx.us/student.assessment/staar/

24 Semester 1 Average Term 1 (43%) + Term 2 (42%) + Sem. Exam (15%) =S1 Avg. Semester 2 Average Term 3 (50%) + Term 4 (50%) = S2 Avg. 2 Example: Semester 1 average = 84 Semester 2 average = 90 (84 + 90)/2 = 87 (year end average) The final course grade will be determined by counting the year end average as 85% of the final course grade and the EOC score as 15% of the final course grade. Final course grades in courses without an EOC exam will not include this calculation. Example: Year end average = 87 EOC score = 92 (87 x 0.85) + (92 x 0.15) = 87.75 (88 Final Course Grade)
