15 A DDITIONAL R EQUIREMENTS … WILL YOU HAVE ANY ? Some colleges have specific requirements that may not be met by our diploma standards. Starting in 11 th grade, you should check to see if colleges you are interested in might require…  Additional math credit  Additional lab science credit  Additional foreign language credit Ivy league and top-tier colleges EXPECT students to have 4 years each of math, English, science and history, and at least two AP courses!

16 Select academically challenging courses…but ones in which you are capable of succeeding! 11 th graders…look carefully to be sure you are getting your graduation requirements in Some courses are filled by seniority Some courses may not be available due to enrollment/scheduling constraints You may NOT get credit for the same course twice, and you cannot repeat a course to earn a higher grade Study hall is only for students with AP courses 7 th period study hall is only for students who participate in CCA team sports

27  Students who wish to take a course outside of Chapelgate may submit a detailed letter outlining reasons for taking the course no later than June 30. Failed a course Course not offered at Chapelgate  All alternate credit courses must be approved prior to registering for/beginning the course!  Student’s schedule will be made based on courses completed at Chapelgate, and will be changed only after completion of summer school course.  If you plan on seeking an alternate credit course, you and your parent should make an appointment to see Mrs. Barrett.

28 You must choose 7 classes For 10 th, 11 th, 12 th graders: you need 3 alternates in order of priority in case one of your first selections is full Must have parent/guardian signature Must be registered for 2016-17 school year

29  Complete your course selection form  Have your parents sign it  Turn it in to Media Center/Guidance no later than Friday, March 11 School schedule will be made based on course requests we have received by March 11!
