Warm-Up An activity or question will be on the board or screen to be completed immediately after the bell rings. Copy complete question and answer. During the warm-up, no talking is allowed AT ALL. Students should save questions and comments until the teacher comes around to their desk, at which point you may quietly ask questions or clarify points.

During Lectures: Actively listening to speaker (eyes on speaker, taking notes, formulating and/or answering questions, etc.) No talking when anyone else is talking, whether it be the teacher or another student Raise your hand if you have a question or if you know the answer to a posed question and wait to speak until called upon

Working at Desk on Assignments: Raise hand to ask for help and continue working until the teacher is able to address your questions Do your own work. That means do not ask your lab partner for the answers. Talking is kept at a minimum and only with a neighbor, at a low volume, and ONLY about the task given

Test Setting: Eyes on own paper Raise hand if you have a question Absolutely NO talking (I have been known to take off points on the exam for talking (even after exam is turned in!) When finished, turn in test and then work quietly on other work

Labs: Talk in a below normal voice only to your lab partner and about the task at hand Stay in group assigned unless you are on a task-related mission Do not use any of the equipment unless you are instructed by the teacher or have permission from the teacher. No running, pushing, climbing or sitting on the tables in the room. If you drop it pick it up off the floor. Put all trash in the trashcan. Only food to be consumed is that prepared in the lab.

Finished Early: If you finish your work early, you should raise your hand, and I will provide you with the next task. If all work for the day is completed, be patient and respectful to your peers. Closing: Complete summary or write a question that you have concerned the day’s activity Approximately one to two minutes before the end of the period, the teacher will announce clean-up time. Students should check around and under desks for trash, return all materials to their proper place, return to seats, and gather personal items in preparation for dismissal Remain in your seat until the teacher dismisses the class. Students who try to leave before the teacher dismisses the class must wait until everyone else has left before they may leave.
