Spanish Goals My goal is to get you to learn a new language, and to help you to understand a foreign language as a stepping stone. Never hesitate to ask any questions if you don’t know what it means. I will help you to improve your learning of a new language. I will monitor your progress that you do in Spanish.

Class Rules 1. Be on time. 2. Be respectful to yourself, others and the environment. 3. Be responsible 4. Be prepared, and bring all supplies to class every day. 5. Always be honest. 6. Work hard every day.

Class Rules 7. No eating, drinking or chewing gum (except bottled water) 8. No radios, I-pods, cell phones, games, players (cards, dice, etc.) or anything “other” electronic devices allowed in the room (for more information see page5, look where it says Cell Phone/Electronic Devices Policy: ) 9. Be in your seat, quiet and ready to work, be on time! 10. No leaving the classroom for any reason. Please take care of your personal needs before or after class. You are here to learn the full class period. (No excuses or exceptions to this rule, unless students use their potty pass)

Class Rules 11. Always raise your hand to speak. 12. Always follow directions (written or oral) the first time they are given. 13. Never talk back or disrespect any staff volunteer. 14. Always sit in your assigned seat. (If you don’t you will be counted absent, and will have to make up that day even though you were present.)

Class Rules 15. Always be respectful to Substitute Tutor(s) (If the substitute tutor(s) leave a bad report, and your name is written on the bad report, you will automatically receive an office referral.) 16. The tutor dismisses the class.Stay in your assigned seat until dismissed.

Class Rules 17. LTD: Loud Talking Disorder: Students who are given permission to talk must keep their voices low at all times! 18. Students are always to keep the environment around them clean. (Students who make a mess, must always clean the mess) 19. You must complete all assignments on time. 20. You must not ask questions at inappropriate times. 21. Students will not talk about religion, sex or politics. 22. Treat others how you want to be treated! 23. keep your hands and feet to yourself! 24. No homework, No excuse!

Consequences Bad!!!!!

Consequences 1. The tutor will ask the student to stop! (Warning #1) 2. The tutor will demand the student to stop! (Warning#2) parent phone call, student’s conduct/behavior grade will drop from an “E” to an “S”. 3. Student is required to attend a 30 minute detention before school, parent phone call; student’s conduct/behavior grade will drop from an “S” to an “N”. 4. Student is required to attend a 1 hour detention before school, parent(s) will be called for a meeting; student’s conduct/behavior grade will drop from an “N” to a “U”. 5. The student will be required to copy the definition of order, and it will count as a daily grade! (Final Warning) 6. Student will receive an official infraction (Office Referral). From that point it’s in the hands of the Spanish Program Principal.

Rewards 1. you will be given a green slip you will be given a check mark on your green slip each time you do something good! 7. you will be given a gold slip! 8. you will get a prize, and you will be given an exellent in my Spanish conduct grade (for Spanish Tutorials conduct grade.)

Grading policy Conversational Spanish: 50% Daily Grades: Journals, Class work Assignments, Oral Activities, Participation, Quizes, Homework and “other” daily grades. 50% Major Grades: Tests, Projects and “other major grades”. * The Level Exit Benchmark is Administered at the end of May. It counts as 50% of the “all year final grade”.

Grading Policy: Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3: 40% Daily Grades: Journals, Class work Assignments, Oral Activities, Participation, Quizes, Homework and “other” daily grades. 60% Major Grades: Tests, Projects and “other major grades”.

Grading Policy: Levels 5 & 6: Since the student is taking a course similar to an AP class, Major grades will constitute 70% of their grade (this means that tests, projects and “other” major assignments will count as 70%) While 30% will be Minor/Daily grades will constitute their grade (this means that homework, quizzes, participation, in-class work, warm-ups and “other” minor/daily assignments will count as 30%)
