The name/plot of the play  Music Through the Decades  Travel back in time to the early 1900s and dance and sing all the way to present day. Each decade brings new and exciting adventures! Meet Shirley Temple, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, and so many more!

Choreographers wanted  Mrs. Hannold can’t do it all!  We have a few and I help too, but we’d rather have you!  Do you have dance experience?!!?  Want to get back into it?!?!  Choreograph 1 dance or 2 (or 3)

Costumes  Please fill out your child’s costume information on the audition form AND online.  It is VERY important that you complete both! If we don’t have your child’s size, they will not get a costume.  2 nd grade drama club will provide costumes, but we will need help making/organizing them!

Costumes (continued)  Costume Manager- Mrs. Funchion   Costume Manager- Mrs. Frank   They need assistants! What does a costume assistant do?!??!  When given costumes, try them on your group  Make notes for what needs to be fixed, taken in, etc.  During the performance- stay with your decade to make sure they are dressed correctly  2 performances- 2 parents per night in each room

Audition Stratton  EVERY student will receive a part in the show  Stage presence  Singing Voice  Speaking Voice  Song- This Land is Your Land (can memorize)  Poem- Ice Cream Cake (can memorize)  Line up in the hallway and audition on the stage.  Parents should stay with their children at all times.  Children can leave after their audition P LEASE BRING THE AUDITION FORM !

Fundraiser Committee Head of the Fundraising Committee Raise money for the club- costumes, sets, props, special effects All New Fundraisers must be approved New: Pampered Chef- January online fundraiser Shipped directly to your house Last year–Gertrude Hawk (biggest one)- March, Pretzel Snack, Picture frames w/ photo, t-shirts, flowers, candy, food at intermission What am I missing?? Last year’s parents have offered to meet with this year’s parents to talk about the fundraisers.

Show Committee  Set up tables, organize sales for performances  (water, ice, pizza, pretzels, flowers, candy grams, etc)  Arrive around 5:00p and clean up after the show

Pick-Up/ Attendance  Children must be picked up at 5:00pm  Please send in a COMMUNICATION FORM with your child if:  they cannot attend their rehearsal  they will be going home with someone else  No note= unexcused absence  Have ID ready please  Until I learn faces and names, I will check IDs before the students are let go.

Y’s Kids Program  Children need a note telling Y’s kids when they will be coming from Drama Club Rehearsal  They will be walked down to Y’s kids from their rehearsal  Volunteers to make the program  I will write down all that needs to be put in the program, you would just have to make it.

Performance Dates  MUST ATTEND BOTH PERFORMANCEs  Make arrangements for them to attend all three shows  Sports, games, or other practices are inexcusable  School Performance– Friday April 15 in the AM  Friday April 7:00 (Report time- 6:15)  Saturday April 2:00 (Report time- 1:15)

Performances (cont.)  Admission- FREE!  Due the fire code, the number of tickets each student receives is contingent upon the number of students that join.  Tickets  Volunteer to design/make the tickets- 3 different colors. One color for each performance

Stage Managers  Help bring the kids to the stage and back to their dressing rooms when needed  Will read the script to learn the show  Will attend Saturday and Monday rehearsals  Will be back stage during the shows  If there is multiple stage managers they can trade off each night to see the show  4 stage managers would be ideal
