Orders, promises , requests, advice when reported in indirect speech are followed by the ………………………………….. e.g. “Sit down,” he said to her wife. He asked his son to sit down e.g. “ don’t go home,” he said. He ordered her not to go home. The reporting verbs are: ORDER, PROMISE, REQUEST, BEG, ADVICE, REFUSE To infinitive
