Syllabus

Classroom Responsibilities Be respectful. Be on time. –Third lateness = teacher detention Be prepared. Students need to come to class everyday with the following: –Math notebook –Pencil –Graphing calculator

Classroom Responsibilities NO DOOR CROWDING NO CELL PHONES Policy if caught with any electronic device: –1 st offense: Warning –2 nd offense: Taken till the end of the day –3 rd offense: Referral

Grades Grades will consist of: –Quizzes –Tests –Daily Homework assignments –Long term assignments –Projects HAC will be updated after each assessment Homework will be updated in HAC at interims and the end of each marking period. Letter Grades assigned according to HAC

Grades Extra credit is available throughout the year at the discretion of the teacher.

Homework Assignments Homework will be assigned and checked daily using a Homework log It is your responsibility to keep the homework log through out the entire marking period. Each assignment is worth 2 points. The student may hand in late homework for a maximum of 50% credit (1 point).

Homework Assignments If absence from class is excused, you must hand in the assignment from the previous day of absence as soon as you return to class. Homework from the missed class will be due within two days of the missed class. Homework should help your grade!!!

Assessments You will be given at least two days notice of testing/due dates. If you missed a class due to an excused absence or lateness, all work must be made up within one week upon returning to school. If you will be absent for a prolonged period of time (ex: vacation), please inform the teacher prior to absence to receive the work that you will be missing. District Exams including midterms and final exams are not allowed to given out back but you may come to look over them.

Math Notebook You are required to take notes regularly in a class notebook/binder. Notebooks should be well organized and dated. Organize your notebook to help YOU learn!

Hall Pass Procedures You are given 4 passes per quarter for use of the bathroom, locker, water fountain, etc. Unused passes will be counted as extra credit at the end of the quarter. If you lose your pass sheet, you will be given another sheet but will lose the opportunity for extra credit that marking period.

After-school Clinic Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 2:15-3:00 pm is available on a first come first serve basis. I will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays if I do not have a scheduled meeting. Clinic will be held in room 266.

Website Majority of the course content will be posted online. If absent from class, it is your responsibility to get the notes online and/or from a friend prior to coming to class. Homework will be posted but may change at any given time.
