Drinks will be allowed in the classroom as long as there is a bottle cap or lid. Other than pre-arranged and teacher notified exceptions, all other food/drinks will not be permitted in the classroom. Please note that good attendance and completion of daily assignments are keys to being successful. If you miss a class, you are still responsible for any material covered in class. Obtaining make up work is the responsibility of the student. Students should schedule an appointment with the instructor to make up tests and quizzes. Please adhere to the SEHS Make-Up Work and Late Work Procedures. Late tests will be accepted until the unit exam date for each unit. Late classwork/homework should be turned in within 3 days of the absence. Students will have the opportunity to submit late/make-up work by having this additional time, Instructional Focus, and/or tutoring opportunities, if needed. No work for a unit will be accepted once the student has taken the unit exam on that material. Unit Repair All 9th grade students who earn a 69 or lower on a common unit assessment may participate in Unit Repair.  The first two unit repair tutorials are required.  In Instructional Focus, students will have FIVE days to complete all review assignments and participate in tutoring prior to the reassessment (absences do not result in additional days to complete the assignments).  Students will only have the opportunity to retest missed items on the unit assessment.  The reassessment score will consist of the original score with a chance of half credit for each correct answer on the reassessment. Quizzes/Tests Cell Phones Unless otherwise noted, students will have a quiz every Friday (unless there is a test) on the material covered that week. The testing days for math this year are Wednesday and Friday. All cell phones should be placed in the phone caddy at the beginning of class each day. Other electronic devices should be turned off and kept in students backpacks. Devices should not be out during class, unless otherwise instructed by the teacher . Calculators Students taking Algebra 1 will have calculators available for in-class use. Should you wish to purchase the same calculator that is available in class, we use the TI-30XS. First offense: Student will turn the phone into the teacher until the end of class. Second offense: Student will turn the phone into the teacher until the end of day. Third offense: Phone will be turned into the office and a parent will have to pick up the device from the office.
