Marginal Gains Idea of Dave Brailsford, who coached the Cycling Team GB to 7 gold medals in Improving the little things so that they add up to bigger success. Homework success throughout your school years could amount to a huge gain in performance. How can we break this into manageable ‘marginal gains’?

Marginal Gains

Bounce! Matthew Syed was the three times Commonwealth table-tennis champion. He believes that his success was due to effort and practice every day rather than pure talent.

Show my Homework Get into the habit of checking it every day, especially if you miss lessons for any reason. Look at the time allocated to each homework task and try to plan accordingly. Work out where and when you can access SMH to print out resources or complete online learning. If you run out of print credits, to ask for more.

Homework D26 will be open every day after school from 3- 4:30pm for homework. All students welcome! You can use this room to view and print homework from SMH, or to complete tasks on computers. The classroom opposite can also be used if you don’t need a computer and just want somewhere quiet to work. If you are in years 7 or 8, on Tuesdays and Thursdays there will also be teaching staff in D26 who can help you.

Library Open for homework every day after school from 3-4pm (Friday is 3-3:30pm). Also open at breaks and lunchtimes. You can use computers, read, research using non-fiction books or just work quietly at a desk.
