1 Room 112 Math/Accelerated Math Teacher

2  Been in Oxford for 14 years  Have taught math all 14 (other years have taught science and geography)  Went to University of Michigan (Undergraduate Degree)  Went to Michigan State (Graduate Degree)  I LOVE MY JOB!!

3  Homework and classwork is graded on effort and work shown (25%) Each packet is worth 50 points passed out on Monday and due the following Monday  Formative assessments (25%) Quizzes and weekly quick checks Reviews will count here and graded on correct and incorrect.  Summative Assessments(50%) Test 100 points Projects usually 50 or 100 points

4  Homework is assigned weekly in a packet. Students are expected to return with it to class daily and do a little every night (lessons are taught one or two a day students may say they did not learn they will it will just be later that week).  I encourage all students to try homework on their own first and then we will work together in class if questions still occur they can come after school to homework club Tuesday and Thursdays or they can see me at lunch almost any day in my classroom. Students are expected to show work as well as correct work online.  Homework is helpful for success in the class please let me know if your child struggles and does not understand or needs extra help. WE have resources to help them to be successful!

5  Tests may be able to be corrected for partial credit using the Correct and Reflect process – Test corrections are at teacher discretion.  The process requires them to think about their learning and the mistakes they make as well come up with the correct answer and show all work.  Retake window is 5 days from the return of the test.

6  Retakes: The word “Quiz” will be in the Powerschool title of any Formative Assessment that is eligible for re-take. Retakes are available for scores less than 80% for a maximum new score of 80%.  Usually quiz redos are through the reflection process as well. Students must present high quality effort and work in order to achieve a new grade.  Retake window is within 5 school days of posting in Powerschool.

7  I am always willing to help kids at lunch – need pass to get back to class. Others could also be in classroom requesting help too!  Homework Club is available Tuesday and Thursdays after school until 3:30. This is for all subjects and sometimes it a few kids other times it’s a lot  Khan Academy is very helpful and there is a link on Haiku to access. It has step by step videos to most items we learn as well as coaching that we will work on in class.  If you are struggling and cannot help your child please have them come at one of the times or check Khan (just write me a note on the paper or email me)

8  Pre-Transitions and Transitions are available online on the back of your syllabus is the code to access it online they do not have to take the book home (please check and make sure it works for you). ◦ Website for online books: WWW.UCSMPMATH.COMWWW.UCSMPMATH.COM ◦ Pre-Transitions Math book on-line code: F0806B97 ◦ Transitions Math book on-line code: 2495042C  The books can be wordy but I spend time helping the kids pull out the important information.
