Procedure objective: (Clean)Learn how to move quickly when working in pairs or groups. (Caring and Cooperative) Learn the speaking volume when working out loud with a partner or partners in class.

1. You will often be asked to work with a partner in class. 2. With so many students in class it could be very loud if each student spoke at the same time and in their normal voice. 3. To show that you care, sit closer to your partner. This looks like you are sitting elbow to elbow. 4. This is called a pair-share activity and allows your partner know you are ready to work. 5. Your voice should be loud enough so just your partner can hear clearly. 6. We will practice moving the desks and pair sharing with the next activity.

Quickly slide your desks sideways and together without bumping them.

Without a lot of noise, those in the front desks rotate your desk 180 degrees to face the person in back of you.

Now introduce your self to your new partner. You may again use the name plate as a help.

Tell your partner about your previous partner giving at least four facts that you learned about them.

Tell your original partner about your the front or back row partner giving at least four facts that you learned about them.

Getting handouts Form a line. Wait for your turn. Move with purpose Treat others with kindness-don’t push or shove. Due to paper costs, only one handout can be given per student. Please do not throw the handout away or make a mistake and feel that you can throw it away and start again.

Disclosure statements are on the two chairs in the front of the room. Please move quickly to get a disclosure statement and return to your seat.

Take turns reading parts of the disclosure statement out loud to your group. Read only the first page. Remember to speak so that only your group can hear you.

Work as a group to complete the information asked for on the lines that are provided. Be sure to write what being Cooperative, Clean and Caring will look like and sound like in our classroom. If time permits, and you have a smartphone with a QR app, try out the QR code on the disclosure statement to find out where it will take you.

You will need to write your name and then sign it. Signing means to write your name in cursive. Write your period. If you know your parents cell include that or have them write their number.

Please return it Monday with your parent or guardian’s signature for full credit or by August 30 for some credit.

Reminder: The disclosures may be turned in the next class period but my not be turned in for credit after August 30 th. This is an assessment and will be counted as such.

Please take out the second sheet of paper. Any small papers need to be picked up and placed in the garbage can.

Essential questions are focus questions for a unit of study.

You will have 4 minutest to work as a group to create an essential question using the content and language objectives. Write the question in square 4. When your group has the question figured out, please select one person from your group to go up and write it on the board.

Language Objective: Students will write the necessary information on assignments and starters. Create an essential question from the objectives. Choose one person to write the question on the board. Return the marker to the red bag on the counter

Write the names of 7 people that are in the class. When you have seven names, go back to where Mr. Slade is to have your paper stamped. A stamp = full credit. Please get a t-shirt paper off the chair in front.

Place your ALC paper in your binder behind the Spanish divider.

Write your age as the jersey number in bold. Write your first and last name across the shoulder area of the jersey. Color the main part or your t-shirt/jersey with your favorite colors ( should have at least two) Draw your family Draw a flag(s) of the country where you and your family are from. Around the outside of the t-shirt/jersey write 3 things you like to do.. Along the bottom write your best characteristic or trait. Attach a picture of your head above the collar area.

Please take the time to return all items used, if you still have them, to their correct spot and the way you found them.
