4 Table Tent Nametags Open a Blank Power Point slide Change the slide orientation to Portrait Turn on the Ruler (view tab) Select the line tool Draw a line across the slide from left to right at the 0” mark Select the line tool again Draw a line across the slide from left to right at the 2 ½” mark at the bottom of the ruler. Insert a Text Box tool or Word Art tool to add text Add clip art Add photograph Print on cardstock and fold in half from top to bottom with the design on the outside. Open, then fold the top and bottom into the center crease to form a tent

5 Picture Post Cards Have students select a place they would like to visit, a place they are studying in social studies, or a place that is the setting of a story. Open a Microsoft Power Point and choose a blank slide Go to the Internet and search for a picture of the chosen place Copy and Insert the picture onto the Power Point Slide Insert a new slide Use the drawing tool to draw a line down the middle of the slide Insert a text box on the left of the line and type a letter to their parents with a greeting, and the body should tell them where they are, something they could see there, something they could do there, and a message telling that they wish they were there. They need a closing and signature. On the right side of the card they address it to their parents using the correct format. In the top right hand they insert a clip art to represent the stamp. Print onto cardstock with the picture on the front side and the letter on the back.

6 Math Book Page Show the Halloween Counting flip chart available on Promethean Planet.com Open a blank Power Point Slide Choose a solid color background and apply In the text box put three numbers that are in increments of two Insert a clip art to represent one of the numbers and paste the number of graphics to correspond to one of the numbers Print on cardstock, laminate each child’s page, and bind to make a counting book Variations: Give older students a math problem and have them follow the above steps to create a math page showing their math problem with clip art to represent the numbers in the problem and the total.

7 Dioramas Open a new Power Point Slide Go to layout and select the blank slide Select the line tool Draw a line across the slide from left to right at the 0” mark Select the line tool Draw a line from top to bottom at the 2 ½” mark on both sides of the 0” mark Go to the Internet to capture an image and paste it into the middle of the box above the line In the middle box below the line insert text Print on card stock Fold on the line so that the images are inside the fold, then open Cut a triangle off the edge of each corner Cut the middle line horizontal lines into the center vertical lines Glue side flaps Fold the diorama so that the graphic panel is vertical and the text panel in on the horizontal surface

9 Cascading Flip Book Open a blank Power Point slide Use the line tool to draw a line horizontally across the page at 0” Insert clip art or a picture that corresponds with the subject above the line, put picture as the background Add Word Art and type in the title Add a text box and the students add their name Insert a new slide, Use the line tool to draw a line horizontally across the page at ½” below 0” Type the title for the first step or first term, at the top of the slide add text and picture Continue by making a page for each step or term. Draw a horizontal line at ½” below each previous slide. Print the pages on cardstock and cut on the horizontal lines. Staple the book together at the top.

10 Open a blank Power Point Slide. Make sure ruler tool is on. Use the line tool to draw a line horizontally at 0”. Use the line tool to draw a line vertically at 0“, and at 2 ½” on each side of the zero down from the horizontal line. This gives 4 boxes, you can adjust to make only 3. This will give you four boxes. Duplicate the slide before typing into it. Go back to first slide with boxes. Insert a text box or word art in the blank area at the top, type first and last name. Rotate name so that it show upside down. Insert a text box into each box and type information. Size to fit. Go to the duplicated slide. Use the line tool to make four boxes at the top of the slide. In the bottom row of boxes insert a clip art or a picture into each box. Move the lines in the bottom boxes up 1”from the bottom of the slide. Use WordArt to insert the title of the project on the bottom of the inner panel. (older students can add text to the top row of boxes above the pictures.) Print both slides. Paste the two sheets together back to back with the name and the title on the bottom. Cut along the vertical line down to the middle horizontal line. Fold the flaps downward along the tope, horizontal line of the other panel cells.

11 Vocabulary Word Art Create a new blank Power Point slide. Download a picture you want to use and save it to My Pictures Click to select Word Art tool. Choose the desired word art style. Choose one that is fat or hollow! Enter your text. Click and drag the center of the word art to move it. Click and drag a corner to resize it. I make the font size 200 to cover the page. To insert the image, click insert >picture Find and select the image you downloaded earlier. Insert the picture. Highlight the word> right click> click Format Text Effects> Text Fill>click Picture or Text Fill>Close. The picture will appear in the word. Delete the picture. Cite the source you got the picture from.

12 Mystery Slide Show Open a blank document. Create title slide with title, clip art, and created by. Go to layout and choose Title & Content slide. Type in I was invented in & year, insert a picture of an invention, resize to cover slide. Go to insert and add shape and choose a square. Put four squares on the slide to completely cover the picture. On home tab click new slide arrow and click duplicate selected slide. Edit text to say, I was Invented by. Delete one of the squares. Duplicate slide and edit text to say, I am made of & delete another square. Duplicate slide and edit text to say a fact about the invention & delete another square. Duplicate slide and edit text to say I am & name the invention & delete another square.
