4 Class Rules and Expectations
Be on Time Be on time and prepared to learn. School policy on attendance and tardiness will be enforced. Be Responsible Be responsible. Check Canvas on a regular basis for any missed assignments, resources and pertinent information. Respectful Be respectful of the teaching and learning environment. Keep cell phones and electronic devices turned off unless directed otherwise. Clean up after yourself. Kind Be kind to your classmates. This is a cooperative learning environment and all class members should be treated kindly. Yourself Be yourself. Remember that all students have different learning styles and abilities. Ask for help when you need it, share your knowledge when you have it and work together to learn as much as you can from each other.

5 Be on Time! –When you arrive to class:
Computadores y Teléfonos Check the board to see if it is a laptop day. If so, get your assigned laptop, make sure it is the correct number and inspect it. If your laptop is not there, please talk to Señora McGowan. Do not take someone else’s assigned laptop. Report any issues to Señora McGowan and write them on the repair list on the Laptop Cart. Store your teléfono. Cell phones are not permitted in class unless directed by me. Cell Phone Policy is on the next slide! 7 Be on Time! –When you arrive to class:
Diarios (Warm Ups) Get out your composition notebook and begin working on your Diario. Diarios are given daily and are reviewed as a class for understanding. They usually contain examples of test questions and content. They are worth 10 points each (your Composition notebook will be collected after 10 Diarios and entered into the gradebook as a comprehension assignment) What if I am late? Make sure that you have a pass to class from a teacher or counselor. If you do not have a pass, go to the Etowah East office and get an electronic pass. You are responsible for making up any work that you missed. Please talk to me after class if you are not sure what you need to make up.

8 Ending class @ the CCR bell
Computadores y Teléfonos Log off and shut down your laptop. If you are crossing campus-complete your TOD, Return your computer to it’s correct spot in the cart. Make sure to retrieve your device if it has been stored in the cart Quietly leave the classroom. Do not disturb other classes when walking in the hall. 9 Be Responsible!- Follow Class Rules and School Policies to ensure safety and learning for all students. Turn your work in on time! (Detention is required to earn credit for late work) Check the board and Canvas for all assignments, study guides and due dates. If you make a mistake, own it! Participate and do your part when working together.

10 Be Respectful! - We share this learning environment:
Please be considerate of others. If you have a question, please ask it with courtesy. Food and Drinks should be avoided when using laptops. If you make a mess, Clean up after yourself. Please do not draw on the desks or purposely destroy property in our classroom.

11 Encourage your classmates!
Learning a new language is challenging and requires taking risks. When someone makes a mistake speaking Spanish or answering a question: Be Kind! Encourage your classmates! Don’t be afraid to try! Participate! Share your strengths!

12 En la clase, You are expected to speak in Spanish as much as possible, especially when:
You need to leave the room You need to borrow an item You are working on communicative activities with your partners or groups You are asking or answering questions Palitos Students act as teachers to ask daily questions and begin the class.
