Welcome to Mr. Lyons’ Classroom!

CLASSROOM RULES Respect Yourself Respect Others Respect Property Headphones should be removed before entering the classroom

Classroom Expectations Homework- must be turned into the “Homework Basket” before the completion of the warm-up to be considered on time Late Work- will not be accepted for full credit Missed Work- it is the students responsibility to collect any missed work due to an excused absence

Expectations Part 2 Tardy- student will be considered tardy if they are not in their seat working on the Warm-up when the bell rings. Header and ALL work Turned in Name: Mr. Lyons Date: 8/17/15 Class: WH Block: 1

Classroom Procedures O Entering the Classroom-quietly enter, turn in any homework and go to your assigned seat to begin the Warm-up. O Textbooks- Get the textbook you were assigned and return to your seat immediately unless otherwise instructed. O Class activities outside of 209- ALL classroom rules, expectations and procedures will fallow us to whatever space we are heading to AND in transit. O Forgotten Supplies- students are responsible for making sure they are prepared. DO NOT FORGET YOUR SUPPLIES!

Classroom Procedures Part 2 O Cellphones/Mobile Devices- They are turned off and put in a backpack or purse before class begins. O We will use them occasionally in class but only under my instruction O Sharpening pencils- we are in high school use your discretion. O Getting your attention- again we are in high school, “ladies and gentleman, your attention please” is all I should have to say.

Classroom Procedures Part 3 O Getting MY attention- raise your hand or, if appropriate, come to my desk. O DO NOT BLURT OUT ANSWERS! This is very annoying, disrespectful and elementary school behavior. O Bathroom- you have five (5) hall passes a semester, use them wisely. O No passes issued the first and last 10 minutes of class. O Unless an emergency passes only issued during independent work time Packing up- I dismiss the class, NOT the bell!!

Classroom Procedures #4 O Discussions- We respect all opinions. You can be passionate about a topic but you must not attack or demean your classmates. O Own your beliefs but be open to others and back up your beliefs with solid reasoning. Leaving the Classroom- the teacher dismisses students, NOT the bell

C A R D I N A L S ! O Each day the class as a whole can earn a letter O There are 10 characters O When the class earns CARDINALS! the class decides on a reward O Reward comes from a menu of choices

Let’s have a great semester. You will get out of this class what you put into it. As always if there is a topic, event, historical figure or anything else related to the class you would like to spend a little more time on, please let me know and I will see what we can do.
