Overview 1.1 Develop History 1 Robotics research history in China  Started from early 70th in 20 centery  The first 10 years, it developed very slowly for research orgnizations developed robots by themselves individually  From 1985 on, the development speed has been improved by supporting by several national plans, especially like “ the 7th five year national plan ”, “ the 8th five year national plan ”, “ the 9th five year national plan ” and some program from our government  In may 2005, the first Chinese nanometer robot has been developed successfully

Overview 1.2 Categorization 1 According to the application envirement, Chinese robot experts categorizes robot as two kinds: Industrial Robot Manipulator 、 Multiangle Robot Special Robot Service Robot 、 Underwater Robot 、 Military Robot 、 Agriculture Robot 、 Micro-operation Robot Based on these two kinds of categorization of robot, roboticized equipment like roboticied product line has been developed widely during these years.

Application 3.2 Medical Robot 3  A Robot-Assisted Brain Surgery System has been developed by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tsinghua University and Navy General Hospital.  Untill Nov 2000, it has helped conduct 140 brain surgeries since May 1997, all of which were successful.

Application 3.3 Intelligent Wheelchair 3  The Institute of Automation, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences produced an intelligent wheelchair  Providing intelligent tools for the elders with rigid lower limbers and the disabled.

Application 3.4 Fire Protection Robot 3  Produced by the Shanghai Fire Department and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.  The Fire Protection Robot can walk, climb over the obstacle, spray fire fighting compounds, as well fire reconnaissance.

Application 3.6 Underwater Robot 3  “ CR-01 ” 6000 meter self-diving underwater robot was successfully developed in  “ CR-01 ” has an important value in the exploration of deep-sea resources.  Following the US, France, Russia and Japan, China have become one of the few countries which have the advanced technology and equipment for deep sea exploration.

Application 3.7 Biomimetic Robot Fish 3  Designed by the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences  The swimming mechanism is in research.  The motion control and localization of robot fish are studied.  Multiple micro robot fish cooperation and control system is developed.
