1 Moscow Aviation Institute
WELCOME THE SPACE

2 Your bright future in Aeronautical Engineering begins here!
Why MAI? Moscow Aviation Institute is one of the world's top universities for aerospace engineering. We are an internationally recognized research center pursuing the leading edge in aerospace technology. MAI, in addition to providing an excellent higher education, also opens up opportunities to make professional connections that will endure beyond formal education. Our rigorous and challenging academic programs are complemented by a network of students and alumni that welcome international students and scholars. Our student body of 20,000 graduates and undergraduates includes more than 2,000 international students from over 50 countries. Your bright future in Aeronautical Engineering begins here!

3 Benefits of a new Bachelor's Program in English
Our four year Bachelor Degree in Aeronautical Engineering is now available for international students in English or Russian. Aeronautical Engineering focuses on how aircraft are designed, constructed and used in a wide variety of fields. Benefits of a new Bachelor's Program in English For this program we have developed brand-new syllabuses. The first two years will be integrated for all modules. After the second year students will be able to choose from different areas such as: Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Engines, Electrical Engineering and Avionics, Astronautical Engineering, and Computer Aided Design Students will receive practical training at companies in the Russian and International aviation industry.

4 During the first year of the program you will take courses in mathematics, physics, and engineering fundamentals, including introduction to aerospace engineering, mechanics, statics and materials. In the second year you will study advanced mathematics, metrology and standardization, and electrical engineering. The third year will consist of four modules. Further study will depend on which module you choose: 1. Aircraft Engineering 2. Aircraft Engines 3. Electronic Engineering and Avionics 4. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) in Aircraft Manufacturing

5 From the third year onwards you will begin to deal with some of the advanced concepts in aeronautics, engines and electronics. These include the study of flight dynamics and flight control, aircraft power plants, aerohydrodynamics, control systems and technologies, and sensing technologies. Half of the fourth year will be devoted to project work. Individual project work allows you to apply the knowledge you have gained during your studies to a specific problem in aeronautical engineering. You will take part in practical laboratories and carry out experiments using modern, state of the art equipment.

6 Dormitory. MAI provides living accommodation for students
Dormitory. MAI provides living accommodation for students. The dormitory is situated in a nice district located approximately thirty minutes from the campus. Students are provided with two or three bed rooms in a modern apartment building. Health service. Three special Recreation Centers (two near Moscow and one on the Black Sea) are available for weekend rest and vacation with special discounts available for students. The outpatients’ clinic is located on campus and is available for international students who are insured with a Russian insurance company. Scholarship. Moscow Aviation Institute provides scholarships for international students.
Prospective students can apply for scholarships through Rossotrudnichestvo or Russian Centers for Science and Culture.

7 Aeronautical engineering and rocket science
MASTER PROGRAM After completing their BA program, students may proceed to a master’s one. The available master’s programs are Aeronautical engineering and rocket science Aircraft engines The duration of study for master’s program is 2 years.
