College Considerations  All students should “register” with  We recommend that seniors take the SAT I Reasoning test once in the spring of junior year and, in consultation with their college counselor, once during senior year.  These are offered 7 times per year (October through June) and cost $41.50 (fee waivers available)

College Considerations Hot Tip from the Parents Association: If you hope to register your student for an SAT being administered in Seattle, sign up early!

College Considerations  Advanced Placement Tests About 70% of our graduates take at least one AP test and 80% of those receive a 4 or better (out of 5) We recommend that students take an AP test after they have achieved mastery in a subject and have taken the highest level of that course that they will take. Taken during the first two weeks in May (at school during the school day). Registration is done on campus with the sign up deadline in mid-March. Cost: $87 per test

College Considerations January 26: “Ask Admissions” – National keynote speaker John Mahoney, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions at Boston College Our guest will discuss trends and offer insights about the selective college admission process with Lakeside families in St. Nicks. Forum begins at 7:00 PM.

Summer School Information  Full catalog of Upper School course offerings are coming early February.  Financial Aid available.  Course registration will begin for Lakeside students on February 6 th. Open registration begins on February 27 th.  Some courses may not run due to low enrollment. Regular updates available through June 1.  All registration materials will be available online in February.  An informational from Chris Hartley will be sent at the end of this month.

Summer School: Things to consider  Courses that earn Lakeside credit will become part of the student’s transcript.  Strict attendance policy.  Students should sign up for courses as if there were no summer school. Schedules can be adjusted.  There will be employment opportunities for Lakeside upper school students.

Scheduling Timeline  Friday, January 27 th : Course sign-up forms due (electronic & paper, with all signatures)  Mid-June: List of courses (NOT schedules) distributed to students; preliminary course change period begins  Mid-August: Schedules mailed home to students; open course change period begins  First Day of school: Schedules distributed to students during advisory  Two weeks into school: Add/drop period ends for first semester
