Rewards at The Manor Academy Fostering a culture of Positivity and Achievement

Achievement points Staff will use the SIMS system to add Achievement points Expectation that all staff will use these every lesson We want the students to recognise how they can achieve them and what they are worth

Achievement points available on SIMS Some Achievement points are available by clicking through the SIMS register. Some Achievement points are available by clicking through the Students profile in SIMS. You do not need to write anything, adding it is enough

Getting students to value achievement Achievement points directly linked to rewards – students can clearly see what happens when Chances to win BIG prizes rather than use VIVO points to ‘buy’ small rewards Parental contact for regular and set achievements

Flourish / Strand actions Overall Awards for best students Strand Awards for best students Ongoing – parents can always check progress. Ongoing – students issued certificates for reaching 50/100/250/500/1000 achievement points. Yearly - Manor Student Award – Top 10% achievements with no behaviour points and 95% attendance. Certificate and letter sent home on school comms. Badge (Bronze, Silver, Gold) - Prize draw for these students for larger prizes. - Strand Awards – developed by Strand Leader. Half-termly - Positive certificates from Flourish for top 10% of students in a strand. Sent via school comms. (Pos. – Neg.) - Letter home for best student in each Strand plus prize draw for these students. Use mentee time on Friday morning. - Strand certificates for best in their lessons organised by DSL. Weekly

Getting parents to value Achievement Repeated positive contact home. All students will receive this (in theory) and this improves relations with parents. Awards/Prize draws shared on Manor Academy Facebook page NOT JUST NEGATIVES THAT GO HOME

The importance of Rewards Achievement Points mean something Inter-group / inter-strand competitions Pupils will want the rewards Positive approach to behaviour

Any questions?
