Rules and Consequences Classroom Rules/ Expectations The following are my expectations for each of you and the consequences if those expectations are not upheld. The expectations that I have for you are meant to enforce a safe and effective learning environment and are in addition to building policies for Ypsilanti High School. These expectations may be added to at a later time if it is needed. As with all rules, there is a set of consequences for those who choose not to follow them. Rules: 1. Follow Directions 2. Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat. 3. Respect yourself, others and their property. 4. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. 5. Follow all lab safety rules. Consequences First Time: Verbal warning. Second Time: Immediate Classroom Detention Third Time: Parent contact Fourth Time: Referral and parent contact *Refusal to complete any of the above will result in a referral due to insubordination *Severe Clause: Sent immediately to the principal’s office. Restroom Policy: 3 monthly passes used at an appropriate time.

Odds & Ends spiral notebook folder in bin if want to use (everyone will make one) pens/pencils Check out CD of Biology book if needed (later day) How to access syllabus online (Parent/ Guardian contact information Form)

Name Posters: Take a purple or orange piece of paper and some colored pencils or markers off the back middle table behind the sink Create a name poster with you name in the middle (first name is fine, or whatever name you go by). Make it beautiful because it’s going on the wall or cabinet!!!!! In the four corners describe or draw something you like or dislike On the back, write something that no one knows about you. Be sure you don’t mind if someone other than you is able to see it!

What is Anatomy & Physiology?? Silently, ON YOUR OWN, brainstorm the answer to the following: What do you think Anatomy means? Physiology? 3 minutes Turn and talk with a partner about your brainstorming. 3 minutes Discuss as a group your findings and place your ideas on sticky notes. Place the sticky notes on the board. 5 minutes Group discussion about the meanings of the words

The Human Body Systems Brainstorm: As a group, create a list of the human body systems from your memory Did your group come up with the following list: -Cardiovascular -Digestive -Endocrine -Excretory -Immune -Integumentary -Muscular -Nervous -Reproductive -Respiratory -Sketal

Analogies-Anatomy and Physiology of Each Body System On a large piece of paper you and your partner will create a list of the body systems. For each body system you will need to create an analogy for both the anatomy (part) and physiology (function) of the system. You may use the Biology books for help if needed. These will be posted outside of my room so make them look nice!
