Basic Objectives See syllabus for details –Role of telecommunications in MIS –The OSI layers data comm model –Understand hardware and protocols –LANs including wireless –BN, MAN, and WAN networks –The Internet as a network –Groupware

Grading points each (final is non comprehensive) Weekly quizzes, mostly on Fridays Term project – 2-3 person groups – due at the end of the semester Exams are tough! Multiple choice and short answer/essay LOTS of current events and outside material is discussed in class
