1 ECE 201 Electrical Networks I Instructor: Professor (not Dr.) Richard Farmer

2 Course Objectives Students are conversant with the major sub- disciplines in Electrical Engineering, including problems they address and technologies they implement. Students are proficient in basic analysis, design, and measurement of linear systems that are important across engineering disciplines.

3 Administrivia Text: Irwin, Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis,7th Edition. Reading assignments are listed on the tentative schedule. You should read the assignments before class, and be ready to ask questions and work problems.

4 Homework Homework is assigned weekly and is due (unless otherwise noted) one week later at the beginning of class. Homework assignments will be posted on the web.

5 Tests and Quizzes There will be 4 quizzes. Missed quizzes can be made up only in exceptional circumstances. There will be a final exam, and it will be comprehensive. Quizzes and the final will be open book, open notes.

6 Lab You must be registered for one section of ECE 201L. Labs will be held on their regularly scheduled time. Expect to spend the whole scheduled time in lab. Labs start Monday, January 28.

7 In Class Participation I will not take attendance. 1st in-class assignment: send me an email message with your name and email address- put ECE 201 somewhere in the message.
