Why Change? The Future of AIAA Is at Stake. We are becoming less relevant to our members and potential members  We are mostly “male, pale and stale”  Young people ARE joiners, but they don’t stay with us We are weak in the things that the largest employers (and their employees?) look for from associations  Technical activities throughout the value chain  Recognition of technical and product excellence  Educating the public and Congress about aerospace Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. 8
