What is the main theme or purpose of your presentation? Who is your audience? What is the best way to get your point across?
Create outline of content Determine appropriate icons Plan audio presentation In person or pre-recorded Music or other audio accompaniment
Create PowerPoint slides Don’t overwhelm audience Leave whitespace Avoid overuse of flamboyant colors Keep animation to a minimum
Only one medium or two small pictures per slide Pictures/icons should match slide content Visual should augment content, not distract from it
Add Narration on each slide Add background music to title slide Timed to run desire duration If desired, start another one on a later slide
Click on Slide Show tab #1 on next slide Click on Add Narration #2 on next slide Click OK on the popup window See the slide following
While recording, advance to next slide and continue speaking If you don’t want to auto-advance the slides, then pause recording, advance to next slide, and continue
Right click on slide Can pause or End Show
Click on Slide Show tab Click on the From Beginning icon
If you made a mistake on a slide’s narration, you can remove the existing audio and do it again In Design view, click on the speaker icon at the bottom right of the screen See next slide Click Delete
Determine if slides change after desired time Manual control or automated Match to audio Allow time for slow readers
