Create a Narrated Story with PowerPoint

Basics Enter Text. (Click in the text box and start typing. If a text box is not visible, go to Insert > Text Box. To remove a text box, click the border of the text box and press Delete key. To resize the text box, drag & move handles on the sides or the corners. To change the font size, select the text and go to Format > Font and change the size.

Insert a Graphic Choose Insert > Picture > Clip art Copy picture from any source and then paste it.

Add a Nice Background Format > Background Choose the color pallet from the bottom of the window. Choose More colors. Choose Fill Effects. Specify the colors and patterns.

Add a New Slide Insert > New Slide > choose a layout ---------------------------------------------------------- Create a master slide. Go to the slide sorter view and use copy-paste to duplicate slides of the same nature.

Record Speech Insert > Movies and Sound > Record Sound Test the microphone. Click the record button and start recording. When done, test and save the recording. A speaker item is shown on the slide. You can double-click to test it. Drag the speaker item behind the scene.

Make the Sound Items Auto-Play on Macs Select the speaker item. (right-click) Choose custom animation. Option: Play using this order. Order & Timing: Start animation automatically after 0 second. Effect: Entry effect: Appear

Find Out the Duration for a Slide The duration is based on the length of the recording. Right click the speaker item. Choose to edit this sound object. The information about the sound object is displayed. Adopt the integer value for the duration. (e.g., if it is 17.2 seconds, make it 18.)

Define the Duration of the Slide Go to Slide show menu. Choose Slide Transition. Specify automatically after __ seconds to advance the slide. Don’t choose to apply to all because they should run on different durations. The initial title slide may run for about 3 to 5 seconds.

Add Transition Effects Go to Slide Show menu. Choose Slide Transition. Choose the transition. Choose the speed.

Add a Hyperlink Button Slideshow > Action Buttons > Action Button > Custom Drag with the mouse to form a button. Enter the hyperlink. Add a label to the button. Insert Text Box. Click inside the button and start typing.

Add a Button to Link to Other Slide Slideshow > Action Buttons > Action Button > Custom Drag with the mouse to form a button. Choose hyperlink to another slide. Add a label to the button. Insert Text Box. Click inside the button and start typing.

Notes: Your PowerPoint file need an extension, such as.ppt to work with all the platform.
