Top U.S. Pork Export Markets (January 2019) Mexico – 66,293 metric tons, down 9% from January 2018 ● value down 28% to $96.1 million Japan – 32,910 mt (down 6%) ● value down 8% to $135.2 million Hong Kong/China – 26,744 mt (down 16%) ● value down 32% to $53.2 million South Korea – 18,491 mt (down 2%) ● value down 8% to $50 million Canada – 16,165 mt (up 13%) ● value up 6% to $58.3 million South America – 12,752 mt (up 57%) ● value up 61% to $31.3 million ● Led by strong growth in Colombia and Chile Oceania – 9,272 mt (up 22%) ● value up 12% to $24.8 million Central America – 7,271 mt (up 18%) ● value up 15% to $16.6 million ● strong performance in Panama, Costa Rica and Guatemala (USDA statistics compiled by USMEF)
