Background Largest Social Landlord in Tees Valley/North East Thirteen deliver the statutory Homelessness Service in Middlesbrough Several Local Authority Contracts delivering, supported housing for young people, including those seeking asylum, DV services, families, young parents and refugees Deliver ‘Through the Gate’ in HMP Holme House, Kirklevington & Deerbolt (young offenders) Trailblazer areas across England to develop innovative new approaches to prevent homelessness. Coalition includes Middlesbrough (lead), Hartlepool, Stockton-On-Tees, Redcar & Cleveland, Darlington and Beyond Housing (formally Coast & Country). Thirteen lead delivery partner for this, developed Key Step model. Embedded employability and training service

Back in the beginning of time CIRCA May 2016 Successful in securing YEI contract for Tees Valley – New College Durham Employed a team of 22 staff to deliver Delivery across Stockton & Middlesbrough, and later Hartlepool

Step forward to 2017 Partnership with Princes Trust – Talent Match Developed Level 1 accredited course – 35 completers v 19 progressed to EET Approached by internal teams to recruit 16 positions – Rents / Contact Centre Devised and delivered internal academy – 16 positions filled Supported Grounds Maintenance Team & HR with Apprenticeships – 3 Grounds / 7 Apprenticeships (from 11 available) Matrix accreditation within 9 months of start of contract Shortlisted for Housing Heroes Frontline staff (employability) of the year. Received Highly Commended Realigned our Employer Engagement Strategy

Path to 2018 Extension on Talent Match Approached by other Social Housing Providers Partnership with local authority to deliver Routes to Work Middlesbrough Embedded into Supply Chain procurement Volunteering/Peer Mentor service Secured internal funding for Core Team – 8 staff Shortlisted for Employability Team awards at the NHC Extension of YEI Tees Valley to 2021 Secured YEI Durham Routeways contract

Here we are in 2019 Developed level 2 qualifications (64 Level 1 & 2 completers moved into EET to-date) Embedded employability into Supported Housing Partnership with local authority to deliver Routes to Work Stockton Secured sub contract status for ESIF NEETS Achieved direct claim status AT LAST WE WON – ‘Resident Employment/Training Initiative of the Year’ – Northern Housing Awards Business investment – Employment & Training venue Part of Thirteen Group’s Strategic Priorities Now recruit internally for: Contact Centre, Rents, Grounds Maintenance, Facilities, Trades, Administration, Property Services, Concierge, Asset, Tenancy Support, Customer Service and Lettings, Apprenticeships. 32 volunteering opportunities also secured within the business. 54 roles within Thirteen filled via our customers – 51 sustained to end of contract/still here

Our Approach - Successes YEI and Core 2438 sign ups to YEI and Core (997 Thirteen) 845 into jobs/apprenticeships (344 Thirteen) 162 into training (76 Thirteen) 120 into education (28 Thirteen) 1127 in EET overall Approx 800 still on caseloads being supported with progression (50% Thirteen) Other contracts 346 supported – Clarion/Accent/RTW/Talent Match 91 into training and education 69 into jobs/apprenticeships
