Employer Engagement Service Employer Vacancy Service Employers Our branch is broadly separated into two halves Employer Engagement Service – will go into more detail of this service later Employer Vacancy Service – Working over the last year to centralise vacancy taking. Employers can self serve using Vacancies are displayed on Customer Service team implemented to assist employers and front facing employer engagement staff. 56% increase in the number of vacancies being handled by the team in November almost 4000 vacancies administered in November 2018.

Employer Advisers (local employers) Tier 1 Employer Engagement Executives (key employers) Tier 2 Currently Two Tier Employer Engagement Model in operation Tier 1 - Employer Advisers – based in 35 Jobs & Benefits offices/JobCentres across NI. Engage with small local employers to meet their recruitment needs. They work closely with Work Coaches in the frontline offices with the aim of concentrating their engagement to meet the needs of the local jobseekers. Managed locally. Tier 2 - Employer Engagement Executives are centrally managed (some based in JBo’s). They engage with key employers across Northern Ireland e.g. National companies, Multinationals, Multi-sited employers, Public Sector and Buy Social employers. Two Tier Model currently being reviewed Employer Engagement Model under review

4 Role of the Employer Engagement Executive
Engagement with key employers Account Management Partnership working Knowledge building Signposting Events Strategic focus Engagement with key employers – each Executive have an area to cover, they meet face to face with employers to ascertain their needs – will talk you through the Offer to employers shortly Account Management – we operate an account management system touching base with key employers on a regular basis – a lot of our business is repeat business – our aim is to build solid relationships with employers so that we are their first port of call when recruiting Partnership working – EEE’s work in partnership with lots of organisations including councils, disability groups, training providers, Strategic Investment Board (SIB), local offices, Other Departments e.g. Department for Economy, EURES, EURES Cross border Partnership Knowledge building – EEE’s work to keep their knowledge up to date e.g. Internal and external programmes, Labour Market, difficulties within sectors Signposting – EEE’s will signpost employers where appropriate to councils, other Departments Events – EEE’s plan, deliver and evaluate events such as large scale Job Fair, Meet the employer events and recruitment days Strategic focus – We have a Strategic Focus on everything we do to ensure that we capture as many opportunities for Economically Inactive clients

JobCentre on line – Employers Online -  Fully automated system Total control of vacancies Easy to use service 24 hour turnaround time for vacancies Cost free service at point of delivery Our Employer Vacancy Service offers – * Free recruitment site for employers which advertises vacancies across Europe Available 24/7 Employers can self serve We are always working to ensure information and processes are as streamlined as possible for customers Currently reviewing automated letters to make them more customer friendly

9 Local Works! – Partnering with councils
Job Fairs Buy Social Academies Sector specific Department for Communities, in its draft Programme for Government, committed to work more closely with local Government (Councils) under the banner of Local Works! This is a work in progress. There are 11 councils in NI and my understanding is that 5 of them have agreed to Local Works! so far. We partner with them to deliver Job Fairs We work with them on their Social Clauses Belfast City Council have a number of Employment Academies offering short x2 week training to Jobseekers in their area to train towards entry level opportunities which guarantees an interview with an employer. Academies are sector specific to meet the needs of employers in the Belfast area e.g. Hospitality, Care, Driving, Childcare and Construction

11 Programmes Work Experience Programme Range of Disability Programmes
There are a variety of programmes available to support recruitment and improve employability. Work Experience Programme Range of Disability Programmes Apprenticeships (NI) (DfE) Bridge to Employment (DfE) Signposting Work Experience Programme Voluntary programme offering work experience to 18+ Focuses on matching suitable clients to the right employer Employers provide 2-8 weeks unwaged work placements to build employability skills and work experience Costs of placement reimbursed to employer up to £100 (e.g. H&S clothing)

Value for Return Focus on outcomes Employer Engagement Local Works! Sector Specific Opportunities for all Partnering Looking Forward Next few months as well as continuing to engage with key employers, we will: Be keeping an eye on the review of the service to see what that will mean for us I expect at some point the Department may move to look at “Value for Return” – so this would mean that the more an employer will look at ring fencing positions for Economically Inactive the more help and assistance we will give We will continue to be very outcome focused We will continue to build relationships with councils We will continue to help those employers from sectors who are finding it hardest to recruit We will work to secure opportunities for all Jobseekers
