2 Vestia Training Who We Are Vestia Training are part of The Community Housing Group (TCHG) TCHG is the largest provider of social housing in Wyre Forest (Worcestershire) having been set up following the stock transfer of former District Council social housing in 2000 Vestia Community Trust was set up in 2009 by TCHG as an independent vehicle to build on their success in working with residents and partners to improve communities – Vestia Training launched May 2011 v1.1

3 Vestia Training What we deliver now Manage and deliver TCHG Learning & Development Plan – this includes TCHG Apprenticeship Programme Deliver Employability Programme to TCHG customers – predominantly aimed at 18 – 24 year olds Work with local schools in career choice support Manage TCHG work experience placements Lead on TCHG Local Employment Strategy v1.1

7 Developing Vestia Employability Programme
Vestia Training Developing Vestia Employability Programme Commenced research May 2011 Secured delivery partners December 2011 Commenced first programme in March 2012 Achieved first job outcome May 2012 Developed countywide consortium of Housing Providers – In to Work Worcestershire – to expand programme September 2012; commenced first employability programme in January 2013 Joined Give us A Chance Consortium (GUAC) April 2013 v1.1

Vestia Training What is GUAC Formed in 2011 a national consortium of social housing landlords that came together to work collaboratively to help unemployed residents gain employment Currently 28 members – ranging from small specialist to national generalist; covering the whole of the country Piloted ‘Proving Talent’ programme; working in partnership with UK Welfare to Work Prime Contractors – unlocking funding Raised profile of sectors role of tackling long term unemployment

9 Vestia Training Success’s
Since March 2012, 84 Learners have completed Vestia employability programme 100% successful completion; learners gain level 1 employability qualification 37 learners (44%) gained paid employment and or progressed into apprenticeships Employability programme expanded in 2013 to be delivered in Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern through ‘In to Work Worcestershire’ consortium of 5 countywide Housing Associations v1.1

TCHG Apprentice Programme recognised by National Apprenticeship Service in 2013 – awarded: West Midlands Best Large Employer of the Year TCHG named in top 100 UK Employers of Apprentices Vestia Training & CSR Officer Karen Lowry – Hall achieved UK Highly Commended Apprentice Champion (West Midlands Champion) v1.1

11 Vestia Training What’s Next? Working with multiple county partners to create wider reach of In to Work Worcestershire – this includes working with Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP) Pilot employability programme in Wyre Forest to be delivered in early 2014 working in partnership with UK Welfare to Work Prime Contractor v1.1
