1 …we are caring and compassionate …we deliver quality and value…we work in partnership Social Value Delivery Plan 2016-2020

2 …we are caring and compassionate …we deliver quality and value…we work in partnership Purpose: In September 2014 we published our Social Value Strategy, which aimed to consolidate our approach to creating social value and delivering our vision of benefiting the communities we serve. This Social Value Delivery Plan strategic seeks to:  Review what we have achieved since publishing the Social Value Strategy;  Review the aims set out in the Social Value Strategy against our Strategic Plan 2015-2020;  Describe how we will achieve our strategic aim of maximising the impact of our business on the quality of life and life chances of the local people, and to enhancing the sustainability of the communities in which we work; and  Describe how we will measure the progress we are making in delivering added social value to the communities we serve.

3 …we are caring and compassionate …we deliver quality and value…we work in partnership Our Social Value Strategy identified a range of medium and long-term goals and objectives including: Increasing the range of social value activities undertaken to reach and benefit a broader spectrum of society; Recognising the benefit of buying locally and reducing the barriers to purchasing from local businesses; Devolving social value creation through the organisation so teams can take ownership of how they add value to the communities they work with; Supporting work with third sector organisations to deliver services and contracts; Protecting the environment by minimising waste and energy consumption, promoting the ‘reduce, re-use, recycle’ philosophy to ensure MCH is operating in a green and sustainable manner; Being a good neighbour by minimising the impacts of our business, being mindful of noise and air pollution and our carbon footprint; and Encouraging and supporting partner organisations and organisations within our supply chain to include social value considerations in their business practices.
