4 Draft Northern Sub Regional Housing Market Assessment. Planned Introduction of Choice Based Lettings Tenant’s Satisfaction Survey 2006 Housing Needs Survey Update Reduce Inequalities by Understanding & Addressing the Housing Needs & Aspirations of all our Residents

5 Housing Viewpoint – 3 postal surveys & 2 focus groups 2006/7 Service Standards currently being developed in consultation with customers Extra TP Officer and administrator recruited Maximise Opportunities for Tenant & Resident Involvement

6 Rykneld Homes (ALMO) Shadow Board established New CEO & Director of Asset Management appointed Planned Go Live –April 2007 Meeting the Decent Homes Standard

7 Sanctuary Scheme under development – Spring 2007 Supported Housing Scheme for people with mental ill health – opened Nov 2006 Ongoing training provided on prevention work internally & to voluntary & statutory agencies Tackle & Prevent Homelessness

8 Today’s event Joint monitoring of action plan with CHART, LSP NEDDC Housing Strategy Group Potential for joint Affordable Housing Forum Improve & Facilitate Partnership & Cross Boundary Working

9 Draft Empty Homes Strategy Current appraisal of HMO stock underway to inform Strategy to Improve the Condition of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) across the district Improve & Renovate Private Sector Housing

10 NEDDC, CBC & CHART held a joint consultation event on Affordable Warmth. This has informed the draft Affordable Warmth Strategy Improve the Standard, Repair & Energy Efficiency of Homes

11 Development of affordable housing schemes at Dronfield– completion due summer 2007 Under the Rural Housing Scheme – 20 properties have been refurbished, transferred and let in rural areas Rural Housing Needs Surveys Planned Provide Affordable Housing to Meet Identified Needs

12 Introductory Tenancies now in place Draft Rykneld Homes Anti- Social Behaviour Strategy out for consultation Tackling Anti- Social Behaviour

13 “ Secured by Design” principles now embedded into the specification for repairs & improvement work Reducing Opportunities for Crime

14 County Wide Older Person’s Housing & Support Strategy launched. District wide action plan planned for July 2007 Hospital Discharge & Mental Health & Housing Protocol due March 2007 Working in Partnership to provide housing support for vulnerable people

15  Development of a Rent Deposit Scheme, potentially cross boundary  Work with CBC on developing greater links on Choice Based Lettings (CBL)  Development of cross boundary supported housing for people with chaotic lifestyles  Development of a Private Landlord’s Accreditation Scheme Work still to do to deliver the Strategy includes: (1)

16 (2)  Agree & implement new staffing structure for Rykneld Homes  Ongoing delivery of Housing Service Improvement Plan to achieve at least a 2* housing service  Development of new Strategic Housing & Enabling Service for the Council – increase in capacity  Development of Estate Improvement Bids  Greater training for staff on Compact, TP & Resident Involvement  Respond to Derbyshire -wide research into the needs of Gypsies & Travellers  Respond to findings of the tenant satisfaction survey

17  Greater work with the voluntary/community sector to deliver housing projects  Potential for a cross boundary Affordable Housing Forum  Consider cross boundary Housing Strategy, linked with LSP  Greater work on health issues in line with corporate priority  Greater engagement in the Neighbourhood Agenda  Bid made for joint tenancy support worker across NEDDC, BDC & CBC  Development of equality impact assessments  Development of supported accommodation for vulnerable young people Additional actions?
