Should I take notes?

Be On Time: 1. Upon entering the class, students will act professional, stay outside if you are unable to do so. 2. Students are to be in their seats, quiet, and working on the warm up when the bell rings, otherwise you are tardy.

Be Prepared: 1. Bring materials and supplies to class each day. 2. Be organized. 3. Plan ahead Completed homework Notes Binders Pencils Pens Paper

Writing Utensils Being Prepared Students may use a pencil or a pen (blue or black ink) Blue or black ink should be used for formal writing assignments. Typed or computer generated work will be accepted with prior approval of the teacher. Being Prepared

Be Responsible: 1.Participate in classroom activities 2.Obtain make up work as needed 3. Be accountable for you own actions 4. Keep current with assigned work

Maintaining Your Notebook Your SPIRAL Notebook (ISN) Keep the following in your notebook: Warm ups, class notes, and vocabulary assignments All materials must be dated and in the right order. Notebooks will be checked about every two weeks. .

Assignments Passing in Assignments All assignments should be turned into the TURN IN cubbies near the teacher’s desk. Period 1 in the ORANGE slot , Period 3 in the PINK slot, etc.. Late work will be accepted. After the work has been returned to the rest of the class, you will only be able to receive 50% of the points for the assignment.

Be Respectful: 1. Remain in your assigned seat, unless given permission to get up. 2. Raise your hand to be recognized before speaking; this means no excessive talking.

Pencil Sharpening and Trash Students are to sharpen pencils upon entering the classroom If your lead breaks during class and if your have no other writing utensil, raise your hand and wait for further instructions. Trash Trash will be thrown away when your are dismissed from class. Keep it at your desk until you are dismissed. Pick up all paper around your desk before leaving the room. Be Respectful: 3. When the teacher is talking, you are not talking. 4. The bell does not dismiss the class. The teacher will dismiss the class after the bell has rung and the classroom is clean and all students are quietly sitting in their seats.

Entering and Exiting Class The teacher will dismiss the class Not The Bell. Do not pack books to exit class until instructed to do so by the teacher. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room. The class will not be dismissed until the room in clean. Entering Class Once you enter the room, there will be no messing around. If you are unable to show restraint, stay outside. After entering the room, students may not leave without permission. Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class. Begin working on warm up when the bell rings. Entering and Exiting Class

Make Good Choices: 1. Follow directions the first time. 2. Electronic devices should be put away before entering the class.

Electronic Device Policy WHEN YOU WALK INTO THE CLASSROOM ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES SHOULD NOT BE VISIBLE TO THE TEACHER!!!!! VISUAL WARNING - THREE COLORS: RED- Absolutely no electronic devices should be visible. They are to be stored in your pocket or bag. YELLOW- Electronics will be used later during the period, but they should still not be visible. GREEN- You may have your electronic device out for school work only. If the device is being used for something other than school work, it will be confiscated and given to administration.

Students should use the restroom and get water before class. EXCEPTION After entering the classroom, students will not be allowed to leave unless it is an EXTREME Emergency. The 15/10 minute rule applies at all times. Restroom and Water

Disciplinary Procedures 1st offense- Verbal Warning 2nd offense- Intervention in Aeries 3rd offense- Contact Parents/ Intervention in Aeries 4th offense- Referral This procedure may be altered according to the severity of the offense!!!!
