Grading Scale Parents, please be aware of your child’s progress in class through Parent Access Center and any correspondence.

Grading Components Classwork Projects Homework Test Quizzes Accelerated Reading Writing

Additional Notes: NO Bonus Assignments The quality of the work is where the grade comes from not just turning in the assignment. Students are given 1 opportunity per week to take care of personal needs. Absolutely no cheating!

Additional Notes: All work must be turned in on time; however, situations do arise. Should a student receive permission to turn in an assignment late, that student will receive a zero until assignment has been turned in and graded.

Accelerated Reading All students are required to read in class 20 minutes daily. A student should choose a book that is interesting and within his or her ZPD Level. AR will serve as the students’ warm-up assignment.

Accelerated Reading: You must have taken and passed all your quizzes by the given due date. NO EXCEPTIONS! AR is a huge grade! You will get two grades totaling 50 points in both English and Reading. A student is expected and required to fill out an AR Log daily.

Accelerated Reading: You will not be able to test if the log is not filled in correctly.
