Mrs. Bailey 6th Math How to contact me CLASS MATERIALS 2017-2018 How to contact me CLASS MATERIALS Elizabeth.bailey@hopkins.kyschools.us 270.825.6160 Join our 6th Grade Facebook page! Search: JMMS 6th Grade Required: Recommended: ☐ Composition Book ☐ Cap erasers ☐ Multiple pencils ☐ Kleenex ☐ Glue Sticks ☐ Expo Markers ☐ 12 or more colored pencils ☐ Personal pencil sharpener ☐ Scissors ☐ Scientific calculator Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed to a level of proficiency and turned in on time. If you have missed a due date, the work will still be accepted until the end of the trimester, but it is your responsibility to remember to turn it in once the due date has past. If you have incomplete work, you are better off keeping the assignment, completing it and then turning it in completed, since points will not be deducted for late work. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check the absentee folder on the day the return to school. * If there is nothing in the folder it is the student’s responsibility to check with the teacher about the assignment. * A student has three extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. 40% 40% Technology We will be using computers on a regular basis. Students who abuse the privilege will be assigned alternate work and will be prohibited to participate in the online portion of the class. Curriculum During this enrichment class students will be exposed to extension activities that will accompany and align with the content being taught in the corresponding math class. iXL will be a learning tool used to refine skills and will allow students to move ahead when ready. An extensive list of all the content that students will be exposed to in 6th grade math, please visit my school webpage and locate a pacing guide. Please note that this pacing guide is just a guide and may be altered throughout the school year.
