Middle School Parent Quick Guide Greetings Parents, Welcome to an exciting school year at FPS. This quick guide is to ensure all parents are aware, informed, and actively participating in their child’s academic process. All the information provided will keep give you abreast of websites and apps that we use regularly to communicate and assess your child’s academic progress. CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS Be on time Be Prepared Be Cooperative Be Respectful ***Tutoring available upon request*** Supply List Pencils Composition Books (5) Pens 1 Qt. size baggie (girls) Pocket Folders (7) 1 Gal. size baggie (boys) 3-ring (2 in.) binder (2) ***Ream of copy paper Colored pencils ***Tissue Markers Ear buds (2) Highlighters Set of Expo markers Glue sticks ***Lysol wipes Scissors ***Hand Sanitizer Pencil Pouch Sheet Protectors Notebook paper *Please bring supplies that are needed daily. Extra supplies should be stored at home and replenished as needed. ***Community Supplies EDMODO Edmodo is a classroom tool used to provide students with 21st learning with online homework, content discovery, and direct communication with the teacher away from the classroom. Every student in middle school will become a member and create a username and password. Parents can become involved with EDMODO by downloading the EDMODO app or visiting EDMODO.com. Every student account includes a parent code that can be found at the bottom left page of your child’s home page. EDMODO provides you with teacher assignments, homework and resource links. A parent and student user agreement will be sent home and is required to be signed that acknowledges the rights and responsibilities upon using EDMODO

2 INFINITE CAMPUS FRIENDLY REMINDERS I-Ready Middle School Website
This school year we will be inviting students and parents to visit our middle school website. This website will be designed to keep students and parents informed with teacher contact information, resources, scheduling parent conferences, and upcoming events. We will be sending the website link via and/or remind text in the coming days. Remind 101 is provided to remind parents of homework assignments, project due dates, upcoming school events, etc. The REMIND 101 app is a direct text message system where teachers can send out group texts or individual texts. Please sign up for each Teachers’ group code below: Ms. McMillan 7th Grade Science – to 8th Grade Science to 81010 Ms. Polnitz 7th Grade ELA to 81010 8th Grade ELA to 81010 Mrs. Daniel 6th Grade Math & Science – to Mrs. Bowles 6th Grade ELA & SS – to 81010 INFINITE CAMPUS All parents should use Infinite Campus to view your child’s academic progress, grades, and missing assignments. To access the parent portal of Infinite Campus you must have an activation code. To retrieve your activation code visit rcboe.org, click the parents tab, find infinite campus and follow the instructions. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the school’s data FRIENDLY REMINDERS Please remember to send an excuse every time your child is absent from school. Students are responsible for getting and completing missing assignments when absent. Students may check with their teacher, class websites, Edmodo, Remind or absent bin located in the classroom. All students should adhere to the Richmond County Board of Education Code of Conduct on student behavior and dress code. School Hours: 9:00 – 4:00; Students are not allowed inside the building before 8:20. I-Ready All students are required to complete Reading and Math I-Ready lessons. Parents can view their child’s account page and click on “my progress” on the right side of the I-Ready home page.
