BIOME PROJECT I did the river biome for my project. The animal I chose to study is the electric eel. This project is by Alison E. S.

ELECTRIC EEL: What it Looks Like An electric eel weighs around 45 pounds and can be 6 feet long. Its color is dark gray- brown on the back and yellow or orange on the belly.

ELECTRIC EEL: What it Looks Like The scales covering the body of the eel are tiny and his eyes are tiny too.

ELECTRIC EEL: Life Male electric eels live about years. Female eels live years.

ELECTRIC EEL : LIFE As many as 17,000 electric eels will hatch from the eggs in one nest. Very few of the babies will live to be 1 year old. Baby eels are called baby eels.

ELECTRIC EEL: HOW IT MOVES Eel’s move by swimming. They sway side to side to move. Electric eels are mostly found swimming in the waters of South America.

ELECTRIC EEL : HUNTS AND PROTECTS Eels are cold blooded. Electric eels eat other fish. It gets prey by shocking it with electricity. An electric eel can make a volt electric shock. One shock from an electric eel will not kill a person, but more shocks will.

ELECTRIC EEL: HUNT AND PROTECTS An eel protects itself and kills its enemies with a long tail that makes electricity. It also uses the electricity to see in dark water. Electric eels are not endangered but it may be the future because it’s home is being destroyed.

ELECTRIC EELS: OTHER STUFF Electric eels are mostly in South America. Both parents look after and protect the babies. Eels are stay still and quiet during the day and become more active at night. If you find a dead electric eel, be careful it can still shock you.

Plants of the River Biome Sea-weed

TRAVEL GUIDE AND ATTTACTIONS If you want to visit South America and see eels, go in the summer. It will be hot, nice and peaceful. South America has beaches, rain forest, and carnivals You should pack short sleeve shirts, shorts, bathing suits, flip flops, and shoes.

THE END I liked this biome project. It was fun to learn about electric eels. It was easy to learn how to do a power point. I want to do a power point about Lady Gaga. I also want to do a power point about my girlfriends, teachers, teacher’s aides, and classmates.
