Use of will Future The Future Simple with will is used to express: a spontaneous decision Example: Wait, I will help you. an opinion, hope or uncertainty regarding the future Example: He will probably come back tomorrow. a promise Example: I will not watch TV tonight. an action in the future that cannot be influenced Example: It will rain tomorrow.

Form of will Future pronoun positive negative question and short answers it’s the same for all pronouns !!! I/you/he/she/it/ we/you/they will I/you/he/she/ we/you/they will come to the wedding. It’s a promise. will not/won’t come to the wedding. It’s a promise. will not = won’t Will I/you/he/she/ come to the wedding? Yes, I/you/he/she/ we/you/they will. No, I/you/he/she/ we/you/they won’t.

Use of going to Future The Future Simple with be going to is mainly used: to refer to our plans and intentions Examples: 1. I am going to travel round the world one day. 2. Freddy is going to buy a new car soon. 3. They are going to try some exotic dishes during their holiday in Malaysia. to make predictions based on present evidence Examples: 1. I’ve had 8 coffees today! I am going to have a hard time falling asleep. 2. The sky is absolutely dark. It is going to rain. 3. Tom and Jill are studying really hard. They are going to pass their exams with excellent marks.

No, I’m not. he / she / it He/She/It is going to travel. He/She/It is not/isn’t going to travel. Is he/she/it going to travel? Yes, he/she/it is. No, he/she/it isn’t. you / we / they You/We/They are going to travel. You/We/They are not/aren’t going to travel. Are you/we/they going to travel? Yes, you/we/they are. No, you/we/they aren’t.

Use of Present Continuous with future meaning The Present Continuous is used to talk: about arrangements for events in the near future. There is a suggestion that more than one person knows about the event, and that some preparation has already happened. We usually know who, where, when and how. Examples: 1. I'm meeting Jim at the airport at 6 p.m. = Jim and I have discussed this. 2. He’s flying to Paris tomorrow. = He’s already bought his plane ticket. 3. We're having a staff meeting next Monday at 8 a.m.= All members of staff have been told about it.
