Classroom Expectations Class Rules See Course Syllabus

Attendance Policy & Class Partication SPHS Policy: A maximum of 7 full days absences/28 total class period absences are allowed during the current school year. On the 8th full day absence and/or 29th class period absence, FOR ANY REASON, The student’s name will appear on the Non-Participation STOP CLEARANCE LIST! ALSO: Class participation is approximately 75% of grade for Health Ed, and approximately 85% for International Foods .

Class Projects Health: Mental Health Disorder brochure, Fast-Food project, “Superfood” Menu, Reading Food Labels activity, Anti-drug Poster or Powerpoint. International Foods: Nutrient Poster, Modifing a Recipe, Cooking Labs, Victory Garden, PiFi Health Fair, Planning a meal on a budget, class cookbook Parents of Intenational Foods Class: There is a $10.00 fee so I purchase food for our cooking labs. I also except donations as well as non-perishable foods. Please see handout for a list of food items we will need. Checks can be made out the SPHS Foods & Nutrition Class.. Thank you! 

Business Academy Focus on careers in business operations, business administration, marketing and sales, financial planning, investing, banking, and real estate services. Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Global Economy. Possible Electives: Accounting, Web Marketing, Consumer Economics, and Business Law

Pedro Action League SLC Theme Public Service Focus on law, societal issues, world events, the role of the citizen, global studies, and national security. Explore careers in law enforcement and public services. SLC Motto: “ The more knowledge we possess, the more our community can progress.”

Pirate Health & Fitness Focus on health, nutrition, managing and providing medical and therapy services, and health information. Explore careers in Sports medicine, Sports management, and athletic training. Careers in Health sciences, nursing, and physical therapy.
