Develops deep thinking and problem solving skills

5. Algebra 2
Develops skills related to understanding functions, including linerar, parabolic and many more.
Prepares students for successful completion of state tests
Extends the understanding of topics from algebra 1

6. Edgenuity
Computer-based program with included video lessons allowing students to make up classes they need to repeat for various reasons
Counts as an A-G class fulfillment.

Ask your students what they learned today
Have them teach you some math.

9. Grading Criteria
90% to 100% = A
80 % to 89% = B
70% to 79% = C
55% to 69% = D
Below 55% = F
Rubrics are provided for all project based learning so that students know exactly what is expected of them
Schoology Website (still awful but they force us to use it)

10. Classroom Expectations
Class Rules
All hats should be removed
All electronics put away; no texting or phone calls during class
Water is the only drink allowed in class
No chewing gum
Be respectful of your teacher and classmates
Bring your textbook, workbook and notebook to class every day; make sure you have paper and a writing instrument
In class participation is a very important part of your grade.
Be on time and be prepared to work.

11. Attendance Policy & Class Partication
School policy: no more than 7 days absent for the entire school year to participate in extra curricular activities.
Class participation: 15% of your grade

12. Classroom Instruction
Direct instruction; followed by guided practice and then independent work
We use double bubble maps to help compare and contrast and exit tickets as a quick assessment
Teaching strategies to increase understanding (Cooperative groups, Talk time, discussion, Think-Pair-Share, all leading to higher levels of thinking)
