Houston Market Movements The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Market Movements With the holiday season in full swing, existing home sales nationally rose for the second straight month to the highest they have been since 2007. This was unexpected since prices are also at record highs and inventory continues to shrink. As both incomes and employment figures improve, it would be a welcome surprise to see sales trend higher through to the end of the year. In the Houston region, for the week ending November 20: • New Listings increased 5.1% to 2,111 • Pending Sales increased 24.1% to 1,780 • Closed Sales increased 13.6% to 1,568
