2 Houston Sees More Job Growth
The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Sees More Job Growth Job growth picked up a bit in Houston, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. The Houston area has added 19,300 jobs over the last 12 months. A year ago, the 12-month job growth total was an anemic 5,700 jobs. Hiring was notably up at schools and universities as well as at hotels.  Houston's unemployment rate was 5.9 percent in February, up from 4.8 percent in February of last year, the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) reported.

The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Market Movements Existing home sales declined last month across the U.S.A., indicating that there is still a large divide between supply and demand. However, we must keep in mind that the value of the housing market is the highest it has been in years. Confidence and household incomes are increasing – a sure indication of future home buying, which should lead to continued market strength. In the Houston region, for the week ending March 18: • New Listings increased 6.5% to 2,805 • Pending Sales increased 22.9% to 2,089 • Closed Sales increased 2.8% to 1,449
