2 The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business
HAR.com Leads the Pack According to a recent HAR.com Consumer Research Panel survey, 85 percent of consumers greatly prefer HAR.com over the other major real estate websites. These consumers are part of the May survey of more than 1,000 consumers who describe themselves as “Just Looking for Fun.” There’s a huge body of research available 24/7 on HAR.com regarding this and other important real estate issues. Check out all the helpful findings of the HAR.com Consumer Research Panel HERE. It’s just another way that HAR is helping shape the future of real estate in Houston.

3 Envision Yourself on the 2018 HAR Board
The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Envision Yourself on the 2018 HAR Board Have you considered joining the HAR Board of Directors in 2018? As a leader of one of the most prestigious REALTOR® associations in the country, HAR directors are recognized in Houston and across the country for the difference they make in the lives of HAR’s more than 36,000 members through the decisions they make and standards they set. You’ll find a downloadable application form HERE. The deadline to submit the form is Monday, June 12, at 5 p.m. Here are some examples of how HAR directors earn this distinction every day: Setting high standards for one of the largest MLS operations in the country; Creating political policy for HAR’s governmental affairs program; Continually enhancing HAR.com, the nationally recognized member and consumer real estate website; Advancing industry competency, fairness and high integrity through enforcement of NAR Code of Ethics and HAR rules and regulations; Designing and advocating the consumer awareness campaign through advertising and public relations efforts.

4 Houston Market Movements
The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Market Movements The residential real estate story across the U.S. continues to focus on the low supply of homes for sale. A surge in new home construction would therefore be welcome. Existing home sale are at all-time highs in some areas, however, home builders have not been able to keep up with demand for new inventory replenishment. It will be interesting to see if this improves in light of last month’s large increase in national manufacturing production. In the Houston region, for the week ending May 14: • New Listings increased 4.9% to 3,213 • Pending Sales increased 20.6% to 2,283 • Closed Sales decreased 0.5% to 1,605
