Every course will address the state Curriculum Map Every course will address the state content standards: Artistic Perception- Reading, writing, listening to music. Creative Perception- The performance of music. Historical/ Cultural Perspective- Composers, style, periods in music, cultural references. Aesthetics- How music makes you feel, critique. Connections- Interdisciplinary with other subjects and real life applications.

Classroom Instruction Designed to: Encourage Self Directed Learners Practice time given in class. Practice individually and in full class setting. Show how music connects to other subjects Skills learned can be applied in other disciplines and experiences. Encourage life-long learners of music. The Arts are life changing!
Classroom Expectations Be on time. Be respectful towards others. Respect the room environment, equipment. Avoid eating, drinking, chewing gum in room. Keep cell phones stowed away, out of sight. Be ready to work independently or as a group. Sitting around doing nothing is not accepted. Always have a pencil for written work.
Grading Criteria Weekly Assessments Schoology Grades computes 90%-100% =A, Played over expectation (nuance, style) 80%-89% =B, Played well to expectation 70% to 79% =C, Average work with many errors 60%-69% = D, Bearly able to achieve. 0%- 59%=FAIL Failed to participate. Performance Assessments are weighted heavier than class work assignments.
Attendance Policy & Class Partication SAN PEDRO HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE POLICY A maximum of 7 full day absences/28 TOTAL class period absences are allowed during the current school year. At the 8th full day absence and/or 29th class period absence, FOR ANY REASON, the student’s name will appear on the Non-Participation STOP CLEARANCE LIST. Class participation: Must be present and involved in class activity to receive credit.
